1. Work Really Hard, don’t get into a BS of work-life balance

There is no concept of work-life balance until you achieve something. Also in the journey of finding work-life balance you will never achieve it because it is a never ending loop.

2. Don’t be an as*hole

For him most of the opportunities were opened by somebody he has reported to or they have reported to him.

So according to him, everybody remembers you with what you have done, so be mindful with value you are been providing

Who are right brain marketers?

Marketers who focus more on creativity rather than formality.

We are seeing this changes frequently nowadays because in this new era, people tend to get attracted for more visual marketing than formal marketing.

So let your creative thinking strike your marketing campaigns

4. Power of right color choices

Chandan was the one who advised Zepto to go all Purple.

This made the audience to get a perspective that “Purple means Zepto”

Each color has its own representation, so choosing right colors can change your marketing game

4. Make your customers associate with your brand

“This is my kind of brand”, these should be the wordings of your customer

This can come from anywhere, maybe your product quality, color combination, ads, messages, literally anywhere

But make customers to build a good bond with your brand

5. Earned Media - When a customer talks about you

The best marketers are your audience, when they start talking about your brand that is the best thing you can achieve

Today, if customers talk about your product on social media it will reach more number of audience than you doing a marketing campaign.

6. Why are you doing this?

If the objective for what you are doing is not fixed, then do it. It is going to fail most of the time.

You should have a rough idea of the result that you are going to achieve in each step, in any aspect of your life.

7. Don’t try to change your customer’s world view

There is always a fixed thinking of a person and that may be wrong, don’t try to change it, instead ask them to try it.

For example, in my home, everyone thinks online payments are a scam, so what should I do, just ask them to transfer a $1 or ¢1, they automatically will change their mindset.

So remember, don’t force, ask them to try, always give a low-friction step.

8. Usage of Halo Effect

If you show something aspirational that is available on your platform, everything under that is assumed to be available on your platform.

This is a very complex marketing strategy and sometimes customers misinterpret it, so you should make use of it wisely.

9. v = u + at, a scientific formula applied to life

v stands for final value

u stands for the age

a stands for the knowledge or experience

t stands for the time

So what this equation tells is that age is not a metric to judge a person’s value, it is a combination of knowledge and experience he gained in his life over time combined with his age.

So never let go a knowledge wasted, just by judging with age as a parameter

Conclusion

At last, I would say this masterclass with Chandan Mendiratta was a banger, lots of knowledge confined within that 71 minutes talk. I may have missed some points from the video but I covered all of them that I felt were important.
