Tony Robbins shared this with me, and I will share it with you

TL;DR: There are 3 things you get from extreme stress: Nothing is permanent, know true friends, and immunity. These are 3 core skills to be successful: Pattern Recognition, Pattern utilisation, Pattern creation. These are 3 decisions: What are you going to focus on? What does this mean? What am I going to do? These are 3 mandates: See things as they really are, See the situation better than it is. Make it the way you see it.

These are the 4 main ideas with 3 sub-ideas in each

We are going to learn this in a structured and in-depth way

1. Extreme stress

Tony says extreme stress should be experienced by most of us, because it teaches a lot more than just giving pain. Here are the 3 things that extreme pain reveals to you:

 1. Nothing is permanent:

You will realise that everything you have is just a matter of time; nothing will stay with you. Extreme stress shows you that everything fades away, and also, the stress will fade away with time. So enjoy the process more than the end goal.

 2. Meet true friends:

Even if you think everyone around you is true, it only reveals itself during extreme stress. You will see people leave you halfway, and no one stays when you are not doing well. But the real true friends will stay with you, and they are the ones you need to remember in each part of your life.

 3. Immunity:

This is something that stress has directly impact on. You will increase your immunity. For example, if your business fails for the first time, you will be in a very miserable situation. If it fails for the second time, now you will be like “Not again”, and the pain is much less. For the next couple of times, you will stop caring about failures; it is just a part of the process.

2. Core Skills

Tony says that there are a lot of skills you can learn in life to be successful. But without these 3 skills, no skill will be of any use

 1. Pattern Recognition:

The whole world works in a similar pattern. “History repeats itself,” it is not just a saying, but it is a reality. There is always something that occurs multiple times in history, like a pattern. Tony says that each breakthrough in history has similar patterns.

So if you want to deeply understand these historical patterns, Tony recommends you 2 books: Generations and The Fourth Turning is Here, both by Neil Howe

Secret: You can use these patterns to your advantage, especially Generations is a heavy book but worth reading.

 2. Pattern Utilisation:

This is what I was saying, you can use these patterns to your advantage. It is like getting a tip from a tycoon in the stock market to buy some sure-win stocks.

If you observe some of the greatest personalities, you will see that most of them use patterns to win in their life and that is what you need to do.

 3. Pattern Creation:

This is something like a God-level skill. You create your own patterns and make them useful to your advantage.

Some of the exceptional businesses create patterns and then have a good hold of those patterns for decades, and make some exceptional growth.

3. Decisions

Now that you have got the right skills, it is time for you to make some decisions, but how to make a decision? Here are the 3 key things to keep in mind:

 1. What are you going to focus on?

A decision without a goal is just shooting arrows in the open air. There should be a goal associated with your decision so that you have the right direction to move.

 2. What does this mean?

Now you have got the goal, but you will start to forget about it along this path. How to stay motivated throughout the whole journey. You need a driving force; it is the only thing that will take you to the goal. You should think of why the goal really matters to you, the impact it will create on your life, and what makes you excited about achieving it.

 3. What am I going to do?

You got the goal, you got the driving force, now what do you need? It is execution and action. This is the final part of the decision, where you need to take actionable steps towards that goal or else the decision will be just another dream that you didn’t accomplish.

4. Mandates

According to Tony Robbins, in order to be successful, you need 3 mandates in your life; these are the thoughts that you need to carry while observing anything around you.

 1. See things as they actually are

Never exaggerate what you are facing or what you have. The more you exaggerate, the more pain you will feel from it. For example, many business owners, when they arein the beginning stage with 0 investments, act like they have lost money because of the business, how? You didn’t invest anything, my friend.

 2. See the situation better than what it is

Visualisation is the best tool one can have, if you can see a better situation than what it is at the moment, in-detail, you are gifted, if not, you need to develop it. Start seeing the better version of the situation you are facing. If you are starting a business, see it like you are having $10K/Month and make it even more detailed

 3. Make it the way you see it

Now you know the current situation, and now you know the better version of it. The only thing present is the gap between the two. Now you need to make your current situation match the better situation you visualised, using the Skills and Decisions

Conclusion:

Today’s newsletter may not be about business or entrepreneurship, but these are the things that serve as the base for anything you build in future. Remember, a fancy building will never sustain without a strong foundation; the same goes for your business.

Keep building yourself every day!
